Standing proudly on the Place du Casino, the beating heart of Monte-Carlo, the Café de Paris now has a new director. Stephane Tendero has taken the helm of the veritable institution. He succeeds Eric Gorjux, who held the director position at the Café de Paris since 2022.

With over 30 years of experience in management, Stephane Tendero’s career has given him experience in the fields of catering, hospitality and the casino sector in places like Paris, Bordeaux, Trouville-sur-Mer and Enghien-les-Bains.

The National Council have requested that the Beaux-Arts cinema receives a makeover, during a meeting on 6 December. Housed in the Princess Grace Theatre since 2014, Monaco’s only cinema is operating in “degraded conditions”, according to Thomas Brezzo, president of the National Council. A state subsidy of over €50,000 has been requested from the National Council to the Princely Government.

In 1930, the Société des Bains de Mer planned to build a cinema and a theatre under one roof. The plans were established by architect Bosio and the decoration was conceived by Muratore. The Princess Grace Theatre was inaugurated in February 1932. Fast-forward to 2014, when the construction of the One Monte-Carlo caused the Beaux-Arts cinema to be rehoused at the Princesse-Grace Theatre…

The Princess gazes at her reflection in an ornate mirror while, just over her shoulder, one can see Julian Lennon’s reflection as he snaps the photo from behind the lens. The image serves both as a moving portrait of the Princess and a discreet self-portrait of the photographer.

The hefty, 240-page publication features striking images taken over two decades. Featuring street art and captivating landscapes, the coffee table book was released in December 2024.
