After a pro-active call by the Conseil National, the government announced this Wednesday March 10 three new health measures against Covid-19.
New Pfizer vaccine doses
Nearly 6.000 new Pfizer vaccine doses for those aged over 55s have been received in Monaco this Wednesday. Recalling the priority of vaccination in the Principality, Pierre Dartout announced that these 5,850 new doses will be used to vaccinate as soon as possible those who are aged over 55.
Saliva Tests
The Principality is continuing its screening campaign. And, in the experimentation phase, saliva tests will be implemented from Monday at the Léo Ferré screening center.
In any event, there is an obligation to take a PCR test on return to Monaco. This is for the sake of protecting the population. Therefore the obligation remains to produce a negative PCR test to enter Monegasque territory for more than 24 hours de facto for anyone including Monegasques and residents returning from vacation.
The government intends to solicit families who have already been tested before they go on vacation to remind them in the event they decide to travel. According to reports over Monaco 500 families headed for vacation had been tested in advance.
Extension of Unemployment Benefits
There will be an extension of the Reinforced Total Temporary Unemployment (CTTR) until June 30, 2021.
To recall, CTTR is an emergency response benefit which gives financial support to employees who are directly affected by COVID-19.
