Last week, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Mr Rahman Sahib oglu Mustafayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ms Datin Paduka Malai Hajah Halimah Malai Haji Yussof, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Mr Rodolphe Adada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Congo, and H.E. Mr Alexey Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, who presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
H.E. Mr Rahman Sahib oglu Mustafayev joined the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987. In 2004, he was Director of International Relations for the newspaper Azadliq. He became Counsellor at the Embassy in Russia in 2000 and was appointed Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Europe and America Department in 2006 before being promoted to become Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Greece and Albania.
H.E. Ms Datin Paduka Malai Hajah Halimah Malai Haji Yussof joined the Research Office of the Brunei Darussalam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983, where she served successively as Assistant Director for South-East Asia, Deputy Director for Asia-Pacific and Director of Analysis. In 2007, she was appointed Director of the Political Office before becoming Brunei Darussalam’s Ambassador to the Philippines in 2008.
H.E. Mr Rodolphe Adada began his political career in 1976 as Congo’s Minister for Scientific Research. He fulfilled this role in various ministries before becoming Advisor to the President. He was subsequently appointed Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation for the Republic of Congo.
H.E. Mr Alexey Meshkov held a variety of diplomatic posts within the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before serving as Ambassador to Italy and the Republic of San Marino. He was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs twice, from 2001 to 2004 and then from 2012 to 2017.
