Get ready for the Monegasque Picnic

Head to the Princess Antoinette Park  on Friday, for a country-styled, festive meal, attended by the royal family, for the Monegasque population.

This joyous official event is a festive way to close the summer.  An event organized by the City Council of Monaco, which sent an invitation to the entire national population for an evening which brings together nearly a thousand guests each year. And to which, traditionally, the royal family participates in. On September 1st, the traditional Monegasque picnic will be held at the Princess Antoinette Park.

Be there at 6 pm

How better to traditionally celebrate the cavagnëtu than with family and friends. On the practical side, the town hall specifies that it is necessary to confirm one’s presence at the party (as indicated on the invitation) for security reasons. Doors open at 6pm, followed by folk dancing, a Mass celebration and an aperitif will be offered for guests. The program this year is sticking to tradition. Before the event opens, (food enthusiasts already know this) barbecues will be heating up the evening.

To organize the evening, the Princess Antoinette Park will be closed to the public from Monday 28 August to Wednesday 6 September inclusive. And to help make the access to the picnic easier, on the 1 September, from 5 pm, access to Monaco’s bus network as well as parking at the Jardin Exotique car park will be free, on presentation of a Monegasque identity card or an invitation to the picnic.
