Finally, it’s time to welcome a new Dolce & Gabbana boutique in Monte Carlo. Strategically located in the city centre, the flagship store is just two steps away from the Place du Casino – 2, Boulevard des Moulins, at the foot of the new building “La Petite Afrique”.
It covers 800 square metres of retail space over three levels, and it has two entances. The first, accessed from L’avenue de la Madone and dedicated to womenswear with ready-to-wear lines and jewellery. The second entry, from Boulevard des Moulins, dedicated to accessories, bags and shows. The middle level — sells the brand’s menswear. This is actually, at the moment, one of the largest boutiques at the Golden Square.
The style is baroque with a Rococo touch. Goldish, shiny, and flamboyant ! Pink velvet Italian chairs, shiny marble walls and ceilings and gold metal fixtures. The store was designed by architect Eric Carlson, founder of Carbondale studio in Paris.
“To design a place fitting for Dolce&Gabbana and their “jet set” clientele in the Principality of Monaco is to create a paradise of opulence and exclusivity. I started by defining sharp, crisp, pure geometric spaces, then lined their surfaces with contrasting rich polished pink quartz stone, black marble, and vast planes of beveled mirrors to produce a luminous effervescent architectural orchestra of reflections… it’s magical, a triumph of beauty”, said Eric Carlson.
“For the Monte-Carlo boutique we drew inspiration from the elegance, luxury and charm of the city itself. We love the idea that those who enter the shop feel immersed in the glamorous atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur: a magical place, a holiday destination renowned the world over. And we are delighted to continue our Grand Tour here”, explained Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
