Weekend in Monaco with #hello_monaco

Summer is getting momentum on Cote-d’Azur. And this weekend there are plenty of activities to enjoy being outside, playing in the sun in the summer sea breeze.

To begin your weekend go to the Sea Festival that is once again held in Monaco, Port Hercule on Saturday June 17th on the occasion of Saint Pierre day, the patron of fishermen and sailors who have disappeared at sea. Animated by songs from the Children’s Heart of the Monaco Rainier III Academy of Music, this day will offer many activities for the whole family: a giant slide, introduction to sailing, sea kayaking or kite surfing, paddle workshop, diving baptisms, waterbike or water bubbles for the youngest participants…, with a nautical parade between the two ports of Monaco.

10am: Meet at sea (in front of the Oceanographic Museum, organization channel 72)
10.15: Tribute to the Commodore & Blessing
10.30: Departure of the parade, following Tuiga, the flagship
11.30: Back to the dock
12.40: Lunch on the Quai Louis II (reserved for all parade participants upon inscription)

Beach Volleyball

Another great reason to spend time outside is the 9th FxPRO Monte-Carlo Beach Volleyball on 17 and 18 June 2017 on Larvotto Beach. Organized by the Monegasque Volleyball Federation and presided over by HSH the Sovereign Prince, this international event is highly regarded by professionals and can be found on the International Beach Volleyball Federation’s web site (World Tour). It will feature 32 female players, including 16 teams, from among the best women’s national teams. The final will be held on Sunday 18 June at 4 p.m.

The Principality will therefore enjoy a very Beach-focused weekend, with the chance to experience an unforgettable sporting event. Admission is €5 for one day and €8 for two days. Free admission for children under 12. More information: www.montecarlo-beachvolley.com.

57th edition of Monte-Carlo Television Festival

And now let’s move indoors with the glamourous 57th edition of Monte-Carlo Television Festival will take place on June 16-20, 2017 in Grimaldi Forum.

Under the honorary presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival opened its 57thedition today, on Friday, June 16th at the Grimaldi Forum, with a glamorous ceremony that will feature a preview screening. Led by Laurent Puons, the Monte-Carlo Festival has become a keystone event for industry professionals and series fans. Open to the public, it offers meetings with international stars as well as singing sessions. A red carpet ambience, prestigious parties and VIP cocktails are all on the program. The Nymphes d’Or competition, which features the best TV programs from around the world, will reveal the 2017 winners during the Nymphes d’Or Awards ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, June 20th, in front of an audience of more than 1,000 guests.

Cannes Lions

Another large scale event that starts this weeken is the Cannes Lions. From 17-24 June 2017, a diverse community of communications, marketing, entertainment, design and tech talent from 90+ countries worldwide will come to Cannes to learn, network and celebrate. Established in 1954, the 64th International Festival of Creativity takes place between 17-24 June in Cannes, France.

15,000 people from around 100 countries came last year. This year, we’re expecting more brand leaders than ever before and the world’s most innovative tech companies and start-ups, along with creative people from all walks of life. For more information check the event website.

Eglise Saint-Charles

If you are looking for peace and queite, you’ll enjoy the concert of sacred music with Kristi Gjezi, violin and the Goldberg Trio comprised of Liza Kerob, violin, Federico Andres Hood, viola and Thierry Amadi, cello on Sunday 18 June, at 4 pm Eglise Saint-Charles. On the programme: Johann Sebastian Bach.

Studio de Monaco

And if you want to shake things up a little bit, step out of your comfort zone, try public drama classes offered by Studio de Monaco on Friday 16 June, 8 pm, and Saturday 17 June, 3 pm.
