Weekend in Monaco with #hello_monaco

Have you already made plans for the weekend? Here are our suggestions for you.

There are two major events for Monegasques that start this weekend:  the Lemon Festival in Menton and the Nice Carnival. From Saturday 11 February to Wednesday 1 March 2017 La Fête du Citron® (Lemon Festival), a unique event in the world, attracts 240,000 visitors every year – a number which is constantly rising. With processions of floats, gardens of lights and the exhibition of giant designs, come and discover this fantasy world, and move to the rhythm of a simply unforgettable event. More than 300 professionals work on the project and 145 tons of citrus fruits are used. Tickets range from €6-€25. If you want to know more about the program of the festival visit our Calendar.

The main winter event on the Riviera, one of the largest carnivals in the world, offering a programme of unforgettable entertainment is the Nice Carnival from 11th to 25th February 2017. The carnival processions, comprising 17 floats work their way up to a crescendo of gigantic celebrations on the Place Masséna. These giant, colorful parades take place day and night, with entertainment provided by over 1,000 musicians and dancers from across the world. In a unique setting, the elegant “flower battles” are part of the carnival not to be missed. This year, the King will be ‘King of Energy”. A theme which opens all perspectives to imagination and that is still a topical subject… and will show his fans that he has many resources! Tickes were on sale from mid December.

This Saturday 11 February at 8 pm Stade Louis II AS MONACO will play against FC METZ in French League 1, Day 25. But don’t forget that today Monaco basketball team aslo needs our support as Sharks and AS Monaco are playing in PRO A Basketball Championship at 8.30 pm in Antibes.

Another but very different sport event this weekend is the arrival of the “21 AvD Histo Monte” rally, organized by the Automobil club Von Deutschland, You can enjoy  it on Saturday 11 February on Quai Albert Ier.

And now lets have a look at concerts and theaters… On the program of Théâtre des Muses is a romantic comedy “Pigments” by and with Nicolas Taffin and Mathilde Moulinat. Chloé is a painter, Nicolas neurologist. Both share the happiness of a beautiful love story until the discovery of a little treachery darkens their sky… if you want to know the rest, you’ll have to see it: performances are on 10 February at 8.30 pm, Saturday 11 February at 9 pm and Sunday 12 February at 4.30 pm. Tickets range from €18-€29.

On Saturday 11 February, at 8 pm in Théâtre des Variétés there will be a Tango concert by pupils of the Rainier III Academy. And another interesting concert will give you a possibility to hear the voices of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater without leaving Monaco: on Sunday February 12 at 6.30 at Casino de Beaulieu sur Mer a Concert of Young Russian Voices of Bolshoi Theater. It’s an exceptional event where you will hear airs of popular Russian, Italian and French operas. Admission if €15.

And if you like to plan ahead, here is an interesting event for you: Dirty Dancing musical in the Grimaldi Forum on 11-15 July. The story of Baby brings together all of the same sensual choreographies and all of the tunes of the best-selling band of all time: Time Of My Life, Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby and Do You Love MeTickets are already on sale for €36-€69.
