This weekend we are keeping an eye on the 27th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique held from Wednesday 29 January to Wednesday 5 February.

Just three days after the climax of the WRC event, the focus will shift to the 27th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique. In keeping with tradition, the competitors given the green light to start the rally will be faced with a highly demanding route featuring some of the historic special stages that forged the legend of the “Monte-Carlo”. This classic version of the rally is reserved for cars that raced in Monte-Carlo Rallies between 1911 and 1983.

For kids this weekend there is “Le zoo des tout-petits” (“The Toddler Zoo”) on stage of the Théâtre des Muses on Saturday 1 February at 4.30 pm and Sunday 2 February at 10.30 am, Théâtre des Muses.

This is the crazy adventure of Sébastien who is looking for work and who suddenly finds himself a zookeeper, even though he has no experience with animals! He then takes his courage in both hands and sets off with the spectators to meet the zoo’s residents. There, the adventures begin: the turtle has eaten balls, the sea lion is starving, the crocodile has a toothache and the lion is feeling down! There are several interesting exhibitions going on in Monaco these days. For example, discover the new monographic exhibition by Portuguese artist Francisco Tropa, specially conceived for the Villa Paloma and featuring a previously unseen selection of sculptures, drawings, films and light projections.

The exhibition takes its names from pietre paesine (imaged stones), whose geological designs are evocative of painted landscapes, on the boundary of figuration and abstraction. This idea of an analogy between nature and technique is at the heart of Francisco Tropa’s work, which focuses on the conditions of appearance and perception of an image.
