It is the last weekend before Christmas, great time to finish shopping for presents and start to relax, especially since there is so much going on in the Principality.
Music is in the air! In Eglise Sainte-Dévote on Saturday 16 December, at 8.30 pm will be a Christmas Concert by the Ensemble Orchestral et Choral des Alpes de la Mer with Silvano Rodi, organ and Massimo La Guardia, tenor conducted by Giulio Magnanini, as part of the In Tempore Organi, 3rd International Organ Cycle.
The Musicians of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Julia-Sophie Wagner, soprano and Matthias Persson, trumpet conducted by Achim Fiedler prepared another Christmas concert on Sunday 17 December, at 4 pm Eglise Saint-Charles.
On the programme: George Frideric Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach and Arthur Honegger.
Even in the theater it’s all about music!
“Piano Rigoletto and Tutti Frutti”, a musical show by Alain Bernard, Jean-Claude Islert and Pascal Légitimus with Alain Bernard on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 December, at 8.30 pm, Sunday 31 December, at 7.00 pm and 10.00 pm in Théâtre des Muses.
With his crazy and playful music lesson, his piano and his Casio, Alain Bernard brings us back to the history of music and the daily reality of musicians, from prehistory to David Guetta, through the Middle Ages, the classical periods and romantic … From Beethoven to Bob Marley, from Chopin to realistic song, from blues to film music …

One of center events of this weekend is the Christmas Ball. Auction sale and tombola in aid of the Princess Charlene Foundation organised by Five Stars Events on Saturday 16 December at 8:30 pm Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
There are quite a few sports events this weekend as well. On Saturday 16 December at 7 pm in Salle Omnisports Gaston Médecin, Stade Louis II there is PRO A Basketball Championship game between Monaco and Antibes.
In Monaco Bay will unfold the Monaco 2K Team Race, organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco from Friday 15 December to Sunday 17 December.
The Monaco 2K Team Race is the final stage of the 2K Tour 2017, a five-event two-on-two team racing circuit for young sailors (20-25 years old) from major yacht clubs, organised under the supervision of international PRO Bruce Hebbert. Our sailors from Monaco will be competing against seven other teams selected to take part in the grand finale.
And don’t forget about the traditional “U Giru de Natale” (10 km circuit in Monaco) organised by the Police Sports Association of Monaco on Sunday 17 December at 10:30 am Port de Monaco.
U Giru de Natale is the ultimate running of Monaco open to all, with routes suitable for young and old. Each year, more than 2000 athletes meet to pace the circuit of the Grand Prix and the magnificent streets of Monaco. It is a unique gathering under the sign of the festivity not to be missed!

And for kids Théâtre des Muses prepared a special show: “The Fabulous Voyage of Melody the Fairy” by and with Stéphanie Marino on Sunday 17 December, at 3.30 pm.
Interactive and musical journey, mixing theater, songs, shadows and illusions.
Thunderbolt in the land of notes: Melody the fairy of music has lost her “La”! She goes out looking for it and makes extraordinary encounters during her journey that will guide her through several worlds to carry out her quest.
But beware, the Ogre Barbarie is around and it will take a lot of courage for Melodie to face it.
