The first weekend of December reminds us that Christmas is coming soon: it’s time to start looking for a Christmas tree and presents, enjoy winter holiday spirit. And the city is ready to offer you all this.
On Friday 2 December opens an open-air skating rink in Port de Monaco that will welcome you all the way through holiday season till the end of February. On Sunday 4 December all day there will be electric radio-controlled cars races. The rink will be transformed into a racing track on ice for the occasion. Who said that toys are for children?!
And when you get tired skating walk around Christmas Village and Christmas Market in Monaco Port, maybe you’ll find there a few presents to put under the Christmas tree.
For those who are into sports there will be two interesting games this weekend. On Saturday December 3 at 8.00 p.m. AS Monaco is playing against Bastia in the Football Championship of French Premier League at Stade Louis II.
And a game of PRO A Basketball Championship where Monaco will meet Paris Levallois at 18:30 Stade Louis II. And, of cause sailing in Laser Europa Cup 2016 will attract a lot of spectators in Monaco Bay.
And if you prefer to relax listening to the music Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms are on the program of the Great Season Series Concert of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in Opéra de Monte-Carlo – Salle Garnier at 3 p.m.. If you prefer jazz, there is a concert of Robert Charlebois, a legend of the popular music and a movie actor will present “50 ans, 50 chansons”. And for the opening act Madeleine Peyroux, an American lover of France and jazz will present her new album “Secular Hymns”, a captivating mélange of funk, blues and jazz.
There are also quite a few charity events this weekend. Christmas Ball. Auction sale and tombola in aid of the Princess Charlene Foundation organized by Five Stars Events will take place on Saturday 3 December in Hôtel de Paris.
Another interesting event the Telethon Village 2016 that will start of Friday 2 December, at 5 pm and will last till Saturday 3 December in Port Hercule. Every year it attracts thousands of volunteers, millions of participants and lots of artists. On the program of Telethon 2016 are Pocker tournament on December 2, Concert – Karaoké on December 2 and a 5 km course on December 3. If you want to know more about this event go to our Calendar.
