United States. During the deliberations of a trial, 12 men have the responsibility to judge a young man accused of parricide. If for 11 of them his guilt is obvious, a juror will raise doubts. However, unanimity is required to pronounce a verdict. The intelligence, humanity and perseverance of one man will undermine the certainties and prejudices of other jurors, each inhabited and influenced by his personal history.
