Lecture: “Writing with Animals”

A lecture on “Writing with Animals” by Barbara CASSIN is organized by the Prince Pierre Foundation on Monday 5 June 2023, at 6.30 pm in Théâtre des Variétés.

Philosophers – of whom I am one – are in the habit of presenting their ideas. Most of them are versed in the art of talking: giving lectures, addressing conferences, and speaking in public. Most of them also writing, publish articles and books. But in recent years, I have tried a different way of presenting certain ideas that go to the heart of my work. I was keen to present those ideas through “exhibitions”, in institutions that are not academic but museal. Yet I am neither an art historian nor a specialist in aesthetics, and certainly no curator. Nothing had prepared me for it.
