To open this edition of the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo entitled “My End is My Beginning” on Wednesday 13 March 2024, at 8 pm in Eglise Saint-Charles, the Ensemble Gilles Binchois returns to the origins of the mass for the dead with Johannes Ockeghe’s Requiem, the oldest known. Sandro Compagnon’s saxophone brings a counterpoint of loops and modern rondos, to music by Luciano Berio and Bruno Mantovani.
